Honda Odyssey Front Brake Pads: Are 2007 and 2008 the Same Part?

Short answer: yes, and then some

The front brake pads for the 2007 and 2008 Honda Odyssey are the same part. OEM part number 45022-SHJ-A50 covers both years — and in fact the entire 2005–2010 generation. Honda didn’t change the front brake setup at any point during that body style, so all six model years share the same pad set.

What 45022-SHJ-A50 actually fits

The SHJ chassis code spans the third-generation Odyssey sold in North America from 2005 through 2010. Part 45022-SHJ-A50 is the OEM front disc brake pad set for that whole run. It also fits the 2007–2011 Honda CR-V, which shares enough front brake geometry to use the same pads.

One thing to know if you’re ordering today: 45022-SHJ-A50 has been superseded. The current replacement is 45022-T56-A00, which consolidates several earlier suffix variants — A00, A01, A50, A51, 405, and 415. Either number gets you the correct pad. If a site shows the old number as discontinued, search the new one and you’ll find it in stock.

Rear pads are a separate part

Don’t assume the front compatibility carries over to the rear. The rear pad set for the 2005–2010 Odyssey is 43022-SHJ-415. Completely different number, different pad shape. If you’re doing a full brake job on all four corners, order both sets separately — they won’t be in the same box.

Rotor sizes for reference

If the rotors look thin or scored while you’re in there, here are the stock dimensions:

  • Front rotors: vented, approximately 296 mm (11.65 in) diameter
  • Rear rotors: solid, approximately 313 mm (12.32 in) diameter

The rear diameter being larger than the front is normal for this van. Both use a 5-lug pattern.

Aftermarket options

Because one pad fits six model years and two vehicle lines, aftermarket coverage is wide. The factory pads are ceramic formulation — if you want to match that feel and keep brake dust manageable, look for ceramic in the aftermarket spec. Metallic pads work fine mechanically but will dirty up your wheels faster on a daily-driven minivan.

Confirming before you order

Cross-check any part number against your VIN. A Honda dealer parts counter can confirm in under a minute, and OEM parts sites do the same lookup online. Saves a return trip if part numbers have been updated since this was written.
